im helping a mate at work

hes got a range rover evoque hse and the key was in a right state

ive ordered a cheapy case and installed the board in to it was only a 10 min job (only bought a cheapy as got to see if working before spending moneys on an original case

ive put a new cr2032 battery in there as well quality duacell

cliped together and looked good but its not doing any thing to the car there are 5 buttons all you can feel a good click

im not supprised but is there a sequance to reconect the key to the car again

This is his good working key so you know the key and it's from a 2017 range rover so keyless entry and no key to start just press button

was hoping to get a definitive asnswer by asking on this fourm that some on that had to do it

rather than try this and that and make more problems along the way as ive seen a few that said take battery off the car and out of the key and power them back on and that does it but means reseting all radio setting bluetooth etc i dont mind doing but only going to work than waste an hour to find nothing

It's not in the case, it's on the PCB - this has also been asked on another fora, with the additional information that 'it hasn't worked for ages' before the case & battery were changed.
If the key has lost sequence from 'not working for ages', then (assuming the PCB hasn't been damaged or have a defect) try placing it under the steering column in the 'marked place' then pressing the start button, make sure any other working keys are at least 5 metres away. This should force a resync of the key, if not, then a battery disconnect / reconnect will be the next step. After that, you need to start paying someone.

If your not willing to waste a mere hour working to solve a Land Rover problem, then step away now and wish your mate good luck because there is more to come.

ok an bit of an up date on this after a bit of time and a trip to local timpsons i have found the remote is lightly fubared

there is corrosion in the battery terminals and a slight bit over the board

this was pointed out after taking to timpsons and they tested it for rf out put and there was nothing so i cliped it apart and there it was ive cleaned it up but im guessing the damage is done when it leaked but will give it a try but not hoping for much

fair dos to them said bring it in and did not even charge for the test
