Hi all,

So looking at the wiring diagram and I’m realising there is a few things I’m going to need!

A voltage sensitive switch, I’m not going to lie, I have no idea what that is or does? But I did read somewhere it’s not required anymore... is that true

Where and what diodes do I get?

What gauge wire should I use for the brown cable, I got 25amp 2mm2 28/0.30 2.5mm diameter (thin wall), but looking at it now I’m not sure it’s big enough?

Obviously I will do a load more research, but if anybody knows the part numbers for the relays and the like, even the best place to get them all would be handy....

And I would like to take this opportunity to just say to all the peeps who actually know what there doing with all this electrical stuff, I’m in awe

The “voltage sensitive switch” is possibly the voltage sensitive relay that is used to power the rear demister? Is a relay that switches the power off to the rear heated screen if the voltage drops below a set value, usually above 13V so it won’t work when the engine is off.

What diodes to he depends on where they are going and what they are supposed to be doing.

Which brown cable are you referring to? The one from the alternator to the stater motor? If so, that’s the main charging cable for the vehicle. I would ditch the twin brown setup and go with conventional red, but in something like 16 or 25mm2.

So yes Mick is correct, I’m building a new loom from scratch to fit a 200tdi 90 and to make some moderations along the way, i.e. I have the td5 dash and a fan built into the rad etc etc.

I thought that wire looked a tad small lol best I order some of that in then!! As for the diodes it was just as what it stated in the wiring diagram... it’s not as informative as I would of liked

What circuit are they on? Do you have a way of getting the circuit diagram onto here to have a look at?

It’s attached on the first post, it’s the Haynes manual so may not be the best though

Wow!!! That’s absolutely amazing, I can’t believe you took the time to do that for me!

Thank you

:):)Oh I see LOL, you should of just let me carry on thinking you were like my fairy godmother.... I’ve been singing your praises all night to the guys at work as well, PMSL.

Typical man, you made me feel special all night and then blew me out the very next day!!:(:D

Seriously though, it should be made more easy to find as it’s a lot easier to work from (well for challenged people like me it is).

Talking of which, I’ve read this;

https://forums.lr4x4.com/topic/67807-200tdi-voltage-transformer/

So in theory, could I get rid of the bits in the diagram attached? And if so where would you connect them?

Many thanks

That drawing doesn’t show the dim/dip circuit. I don’t know what the voltage transformer is/does, but I’m almost certain I don’t have one on my 200tdi. I don’t know if it’s needed for a function on that wiring diagram. Maybe @mystery can confirm it’s function and necessaty?

Oh well I am puzzled now then:confused:
