I am seeking another 2002 /2004 v8 petrol. There are 2 cars that I have an interest in but they both only have 1 key. Do I need a master key to get a duplicate ? Anything I need to know ? Cost. The one is missing its parcel shelf cheapest grey/ black one on ebay is £280 .gulp.

Walk away my friend, an unloved or mistreated L322 4.4 V8 will punish you far more than £280 for a missing parcel shelf, having the parcel shelf inserted in your anus will be pleasure in comparison to what the L322 will have in store for you :)

Both the cars I am looking at have under 85k . I bought an L322 a few weeks ago for £4000 it was brill...came with 2 keys and a parcel shelf. Someone rang enquiring about the p38 I had for sale...which sold within an hour so I jokingly said you can buy my L322 for £5500 which he did....I am now rangeroverless and regret letting them go. How much of an issue is 1 key ? I have a good deal lined up but as a missing shelf is 280 how much is a key roughly and will it need a master key.

£50s more like it , how much is a key ? The cars I want both have 22inch alloys which I wouldnt want. Would they be easy to swap on for standard wheels ? I prefere fat tyres.

Swapping wheels is simple enough as long as the ones you get are of the same PCD and offset...ideally originally from an L322 in the first place!

Replacements keys can be north of £250 from a dealer....and only a dealer can supply a 'ready to go' key.

Well I put these things to the seller and he promptly changed the asking price...by upping it by £95. The 2nd one after some digging had 10 previous owners on logbook so thats put me off it...85000 miles and a new owner annually is a worry. Any one got a good one for sale ?

I am looking but theyre a minefield and a miriad of prices. The one I bought for 4k was the bollocks I should have kept it. Are the ones fitted with the Jaguar engine noticeably better ?

With regards to keys, I think the immobiliser is the same as on BMW cars of similar age in which case some Timpson key cutters can cut a key and program it. Would be cheaper than Land Rover if they can do it.
