My son is having issues with the front door lock barrel. Key will not insert properly, & barrel does not turn. He also does not have a working FOB.

Anyone know how to get into the car without causing damage or breaking glass ?

Please PM me if you know the answer.

Thanks,
Pete

Hi

Try to open the bonnet, the alarm will sound and then you can disconnect the battery, the window will lower and you can get in the car.

Don't forget to fix the fob for the next time

Some time ago I forgot the key in and closed the doors. A guy who opens locked cars put an air minipillow between the door and the pillar, inflated the pillow a bit and inserted a long wire to action the door button from dash. That was all. No broken windows.
Cost only 30 pounds

Update - Managed to get bonnet open, but still locked out. Alarm went off so disconnected battery.

BUT when reconnected battery the tailgate window doesn’t drop ?? Everything I read in RAVE & forums says it should??

anyone got another idea now the bonnet is open ??

If the door lock barrel is already no use, why not drill it out? The release can then be operated with a wide screwdriver.

Saves cost of a window and the door needs fixing anyway !?!

Good idea. Strangely with the key 3/4 way in the whole barrel wobbles up & down. Was hoping to reuse the wafers on the replacement lock I got yesterday.

Also don’t have my decent drills here so might have to wait a week.

maybe a slide hammer might work although don’t want to bugger the rod to the latch.

We only have a blank un-programmed fob. Didn’t get one with car
Don't know how to program a fob, but maybe @andyfreelandy can shed some light in. I have a Pscan which I think he mentioned would be able to do it.
I suspect barrel is detached from the extension at the back of barrel. It really wobbles a lot.

mobile key guy already sprayed it yesterday
Ok, thought as my one was a bit hanging yesterday and I use that, it might help. If you want to program the remote fob I have a pscan, in Hillingdon which you could use if you want, but guess you'd need to get in first.

The guy that gave my son the un-programmed fob also has the stuff to program, but as Andy says, he needs the car unlocked & key in ignition !!

Got a replacement door handle on order, so plan now is to cut the existing handle out, and operate the latch rods manually. Assuming the latch is ok, that should unlock it same as using key. Then we can remove door card & fit the new handle & lock barrel.
