Bonnets now fitted and gave it a wash, when the weathers a bit drier i'll re fit the tailgate seal and crack on with the door cards

Stripped and cleaned the rear door cards yesterday and then treated
all the door cards with the Poorboys Natural interior dressing.

I'm removing the window frames from the rear doors now, the support pieces that fit
under the small windows are badly corroded

The offside is way worse than the nearside but i'll be changing both, i sprayed
the frame mounting bolts with 3 in 1 penetrating spray and all of them have come
out.
The top one near the door lock on both sides took some patience to get it out and
didn't feel very nice, had to slowly go back and forth bit by bit or i think they would of
snapped off in the frame

I'll wait till i've got the frames out but they might be getting replaced as well if the
rot has spread too far.

Got the frames out and will be replacing both.

Had a great result and found 2 brand new frames less than 1 hrs
drive away so collected those this afternoon :)

Some parts arrived from Land Rover as well so all in all it's been a
good day

If anyone is after the frames i got mine from APB Trading near Bromsgrove, i think
they have 3 left

Had a bit of a hold up sorting the rear door window frames out as i
decided to freshen up the new old stock replacements i'd bought.

Yesterday i got them flatted down and gave them a fresh coat of
satin Black.

Fingers crossed i'll be assembling them and putting them in the doors
hopefully on Saturday.

The frames are back in the doors now, new bonnet catch is fitted, drivers door lock now works off the key and the fob and fixed a fuel leak on the breather pipe on the filler neck.

Started putting the door cards back together now as well

Afternoon All

I started following this thread last night and have just signed up.

I have a '94 Vogue SE Softdash 3.9 V8 with 1 owner and 70k miles in Plymouth blue i am restoring/tidying up (Not to the extent of this beauty though!)

2 questions to Dunkan:

1. Do you have the part number of the gear selector surround as mine is no good and while i've got the vehicle stripped i'd like to replace it (the black sliding cover is ripped/holed around the selector shaft)

2. Have you found a way of restoring the wooden inlays as some of mine have discoloured? I am debating on painting them and going for the Piano Black look (Not direct gloss) but don't really want to detract its value as ultimately once it's done it's going up for sale.

Excellent work with your own vehicle by the way, a true beauty!

Many Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave and welcome to the forum

When you fit the gear selector surround replace the bulbs with LED's

I'm piano Blacking my wood trim, depending on how bad yours are i would think
at the least they could be flatted back an re lacquered.

I also found this company at the NEC classic car show, they quoted
me as a guide price £300 to piano black my wood trim. The samples they had
on display looked very good

A few photos from Sunday, cleaned the dash properly with G101
and treated with Poorboys vinyl dressing.

Fitted the door cards and went round the paintwork flatting and
mopping to get it looking a bit better.
