I've had my Range Rover 3.6 for a week now. I've done about 200 miles in it and tested everything out. I've tried low range and tested the suspension out at all different heights and modes.
I've had it remapped and the EGR is now switched to permanently closed.
The big news is that so far, in spite of all the warnings and jokes from our Defender cousins when I first joined this forum, everything is still working. Nothing has gone wrong. I believe this is an achievement in itself, so I'll take that and run with it. Going out to celebrate tonight with a curry and a pint. Happy days!!

It is lulling you into a sense of false security. Put £200 a month into a high interest savings account ready for the inevitable.

Now you're firmly in the fold we can let you into a little secret. The Range Rover owners have their own version of the "Landy wave" where you have your fingers firmly crossed as you lift your hand from the steering wheel to greet your fellow sucker, sorry, Range Rover owner.

Oh , you poor, silly, silly, person. A week is not when you make comments like that. If you are lucky the first few weeks are when she is still coquettish, making you feel she would do anything to make your life more comfortable. At this point she flaunts her beauty, together with the most easy going nature, going with you wherever you want and you just know the neighbours covet her. She knows that you are falling in love with her
Give it a couple of months, when you are hooked and her true nature will emerge. She will start to show how stroppy she is, don't dare look at or even mention another vehicle or she will throw a hissy fit ( funny how mine has been better behaved since I got rid of the convertible). She will still look beautiful but she will start demanding lots of work done. And it's not even work you can see others admiringly glance at, it's all expensive hidden work. She will also demand that you can only get certain parts from the designer shop at JLR. No knock offs for our girls. If you do buy knock offs, you will never hear the end of it, she will bang on and on about it. Ask the guys who bought the 'wrong' air struts ;)
She will demand you work overtime, just so you can take her nice places ( couple of hundred miles from home , no further). Then she will throw a strop because you work too much and don't spend time with her. So when you do go to spend time together, she has run the battery flat by muttering to herself and that puts her in a right mood. However, on the flip side if you expect her to spend lots of time with you, she will roll her eyes, break something and say you expect too much from her.
I could go on but some things you'll need to find out for yourself ;)
Enjoy :D:D:D

Reminds me of the Audi RS6 I used to own. That had to go when I got the mortgage!!!

What, a so far? I'm sure he did an ad for DFS so probably got one for free.
What I was trying to say is not to count chickens etc etc etc.
Mr Walker was famous (in our house at least) for putting a jinx on drivers while he was commentating, IE "and Mansel has it in the bag" just before a wheel falls off, or that sort of thing anyway.:)

I saw Murry last Sunday at brands hatch for the BTCC in the BMW pit garages unfortunately I did not get chance to have a chat:(
wanted to here him say GO GO GO, ahh just realized why the bemmer had a problem it was his fault:eek:

The poor, poor deluded fuel (see what I did there?).
Rangies only "pretend" to play nice.
Really, they are plotting all the time.
They lull you into a false sense of comfort, invulnerability and security and then....
BAM!!! ****-loads all goes wrong at once, and your local dealer/maintainer starts booking the family holiday you will be paying for.
Welcome to the madness. :p

I've got a list of things to do, (as do most), if I do them all, Something else will give up... So, if I don't finish the list.. you dig?!;)
