Now with my job I have a night heater & rarely use the landy. Will fit the bag the weekend so the mrs can use it if needed

I may even take a photo for you

maybe tyre socks could be a good middle ground of they are going to ne used once in 10 years?

Be a lot easy-to-use and cheaper for just a in case item. I have them for driving through Europe as some countries its mandatory if you haven't got winter tyers on

Yeah, I think I'm sold, I'm running BF Goodrich AT KO2's, which are snow rated, but I think as soon as it get hairy you'll need something more. Are the snow socks multi use, I guess they'll disintegrate fairly quickly, but as you say, its a good just incase comprimise

Cheaper to replace socks than chains.
As soon as the snow thickness get low chains hit the tarmac & wear out links.
Plus side also socks easy to fit(of course I use these on a car not on a landy)

For a Landry with aggressive tyres get chains

We only have socks for the L322 as they don’t recommend chains for clearance issues

. They are a lot easier to fit, but I don’t think as good as a proper chain, but would for sure help on a road bias tyre.
But as I said earlier (and we get uncleared roads here) they have only ever been needed for a practice fit and legally

. You will be surprised how any LR product can cope if in working order

.

But there are exceptions as post #13, ours are like @Stone56 has.

Totally agree with that snow needs to be a good depth I soon got fedup with the on and off. Thay come into their own on ice I have found as thay cut into it
