Snatch Landrover ?

Hi,

I called AA today as the landy wouldnt start and thought well i might aswell get my moneys worth.

When I called and gave them the reg they said it was on there system as a Snatch Landrover?

I wondered if there was any way of confirming this, I bought it thinking it was just an 88.... but paint looks MOD at under the current paint?

any help appreciated
 
I don't see what difference it makes to the AA they should still come out even if it takes them longer to get to what they need to and besides,the Armour shouldn't hinder them unless it's a drive train problem.

if it's recovery job the weight may be an issue for them
 
i presume thay made em in the early 80's , don't think they fetch any more money, if it was still armoured you'd know cos the undersides would be plated and the rear body would be heavily reinforced. It may be that someone rebodied her at some point cos mostly snatch v8's and very thirsty due to the bulk they carried, maybe your diffs would tell ,do you have sailsbury diffs front and back is normally a good indication.

They did but they were more of a bodge job for NI and not what i would class as a proper snatch (best put landy after that statement) :D

Insurance companies being what they are might class a modded 3 series as a snatch,As i said earlier they did mod them with Kevlar plating for NI.

i never noticed you said 88,maybe it was delivered and registered to the mod in a batch of snatch landies as a staff motor and they buggered the registration up, ask the insurance what wheelbase they think you have. or you could have a clone/ringer on the wrong plates
