My 200TDI engin is smoking like a steam train out of the rear side of the rocker cover and the Oil filler cap.

The oil level is good as I changed it only 2 weeks ago.

Any ideas?

Thanks

if its steam could be one of many things.

was there any water in the new oil you put in?
is it over heating?
have you got low oil pressure?

No very good oil fresh from the sealed plastic continer.
Not over heating.
Oil presure is good as far as I know the light is not on and the dip stick is showing near to the top of the guage.

thats a good start then

have you lost any water at all

is your oil still clean and not gone milky

water level is fine nd the water is cold.

I have not been driving in deep water but I did give the engin a quick clean last weekend, what are you thinking?

Head gasket blown on number 4 cyl into pushrod holes, dont keep driving it or it will end up running away on its own engine oil.

simple job still could be a few things
take the wire off your oil pressure switch make sure its working

tried the switch, The light comes on when I turn the ignition on then does not go out till the engine is starten teh it goes out. I romoved the cable and the light was still out.

If I was low on oil then I would expect there to be an issue but as there is plenty in there I dont see whats up,

could it be like the oil pump not pumping the oil up into the head or maybe a blocked hole in the head?

yeah mate thats wot i mean seal could have gone on your oil pump like you say could be blocked holes or your pump could be worn

dont drive it till your sure wat it is get a new switch put that in see what happens give the engine a good flush get all the s**t out of it if its still the same get a pressure test done on your oil and on the cilinders when you get the tests done if low oil pressure get a new pump

I used engine flush when I change the oil, are you proposing another oil change?

How do I go about getting a test done on the oil and cylinders?
