Sluggish after puddels

Afternoon gents . Can anyone help me with a diagnosis .. few mins after splashin through puddels i get big loss of power if i restart the car all is well again until next big puddle is hit . No warnig lights etc.. it stil will gain speed but i would not say its restricted to certain rpms or speeds just goes realll slow . Thanks in advance
 
What Freelander do you have FL1 or FL2, crank sensor on the FL1 is low down towards the right when looking into the engine bay.

so maybe check the wiring or connector for corrosion or being wet,?

Does the car have the undertray installed and the 2 plastic side pieces that would stop most of the water getting to the engine?
Under tray is installed yes am jjst trying to get to the crank sensor as we speak .. am i gonna have 2 come from underneath please bare with me as my mechanic skills only go bak about 3 weeks hah
