Got a bit of a problem and hoping someone can help shed some light. Got the disco stuck in some boggy mud yesterday and had to have it towed out. Now the sls is not working properly. The car is sitting at normal ride height and hasn't/isn't sinking so the bags are air tight. When the off road button is hit the car chimes once and the yellow light flashes to indicate it operating but it doesn't raise. The compressor does however start running when this is on and stops when turned off again so the compressors fine. I'm assuming that for some reason the valves are not opening and closing to inflate/deflate the bags but why I don't know. Can anyone help??

Many thanks in advance.

Have you got all doors shut when you try this? If not, it won't work.

Yes doors, bonnet and boot all shut. It'll chime 3 times with the door open so I know it's registering all the doors closed ok. The compressor doesn't seem to be kicking in now. Reading the other thread are the ride height sensors a highly probable cause?

Got the same problem again now. The suspension started working fine again a day or two later so suspected water ingress on the ride height sensors. As it hasn't worked for a week or so I replaced both sensors tonight but still not working. The compressor runs, the car chimes when off road mode is selected and chimes again to lower when driven over 20mph and the bags are airtight as it has stayed at the same ride height for over a week. Any ideas where to go next or any recommendations of land rover specialists in the romford, Essex area.

Many thanks

Did you disconnect the battery before changing the sensors?,if not the system will need recalibrating with hawkeye/nanocom or similar

I did yes. It seems to be doing everything other than opening the valves to allow the bags to be inflated.

put some heavy weight in the boot or hook a trailer and see if it relevells then... if it does turn ignition off, get out, open the boot and remove that weight...if it will drop a bit then it means that the management, the valves and theyr wiring is good and the calibration of the sensors needs adjustment as the ORM height is very close to the normal height setting and you dont observe the difference.

by the way if you select ORM the light on the dash flashes continuously or it stops after a while?... cos if it stops then chimes again and flashes and stops again after you exceeded 20mph it means the management gets inputs as ORM height and normal height were reached at a time... otherwise it would have flashed continuously... and the compressor would work aswell... the command for the compressor and the valves is on the same input from the sensors...so if the compressor runs and stops without open valves there is some output issue....if you see what i mean... which would lead to an ECU missbehaviour
