Hi guys and girls. I've got the dreaded sloppy selector on my manual 2.5. As a result its refusing to self centre for 3rd/4th which isn't a major issue but I feel one that can be resolved. Has anyone successfully solved this issue? And if so what parts are needed? I've read somewhere about a detent/spring but that seems to be the limit of the info.

Many thanks!

I've heard its a bloody expensive remote gearchange that solves the problem. Never had it myself but I do have a spare in the garagejust in case.
I've read somewhere that its only available as a whole which is a shame, but i'm hoping the parts are available lol

If i am right and we are talking about the two sprung ball units in the remote mine had seized and not centering the leaver, i managed to unscrew mine out using water pump pliers throw the gear leaver hole and found that the springs had rusted so were not pushing the balls out,
i managed to get the balls out and replace the springs with some savaged out of a toilet cistern flush unit as they were the right size and stainless, so they can be fixed, i did see some new ones for sale afterwords but can not find any now.

I did think something was possible looking at the set up.I would certainly try if I didn't have a spare.

There has to be somethings in the extension that are serviceable. But i can find no parts listed for it. Can't be terribly complicated though.

Another bit that can not help with a sloopy leaver is the selector pin mine was found to be a bit loose when the roll pins where done last

Damned if I could get mine apart. I put a second hand one in mine in the end.

Pretty sure @james martin knows the parts as I think he posted a link on one of my old threads. Detents for R380 are what you are looking for.
