Something has to be done, the thieves are floating them out of the U.K. (or stripping them down) totally unchecked.
I can find no evidence of anybody being caught!!
What about petitioning govt or at least your local councillors to step up efforts to stop these gangs.
Someone show me what’s currently being done. All l can find is Police warnings to “secure your vehicles”.

Although having said all that, my friend is a rozzer and he says they do catch people, then they get suspended sentences or community service, and walk out of court laughing

I'm afraid your friend is right.

I don't think we are a priority. We've all seen pictures on TV of shipping containers containing high value Porsches, Aston Martins and top of the range Range Rovers with agents of the National Crime Agency standing by looking very pleased with themselves (as they should be). When they are dealing with £100,000+ motor vehicles I don't think a (dare I say it) "tatty" 15 year old Defender is even on their radar.

I'm not suggesting that the local cops don't make an effort. I know they do but at a national and international level priorities are terrorism, people trafficking and £multi-million drug smuggling.

I think we must rely on ourselves to invest in the best security we can afford and a decent insurance policy will take care of the rest. Sadly.

Even early series are not safe.
A few have gone over the past few months.

We're in the middle of the biggest political crisis in modern times do you really think any politicians are going to give 2 figs about Land Rover owners worrying about vehicle thefts! Get real.
