now heres what i found on the bulkhead appart from the usual grot n tinworm in the usual places

i started with me little ball pein hammer and couldnt put it through many places especialy these footwells

got some badass wiring issues on her such as evrything wants retraceing and redoing as a lot of it is bodged together with old extension leads and god only knows what else

How far are you going to go with the renovation complete strip or just what needs doing

gonna take it down to the chassis and running gear ( rolling chassis ) at least as i want to know that evry little thing on this old girl is 100% solid and trustworthy its the only way ill know for sure and have total piece of mind :cool::cool:

Ya look to have a decent project there and as you say down to a rolling chassis is the most efficient.Enjoy hope ya get the numbers sorted;)

heres a question has anyone ever seen seatbelts like these and am i right in thinking theyre factory fitted early seventies

and just a little question as i cant remember what i did to start her there is a manual fuel shut off valve for the fuel pump ( looks like a choke pull out knob )

should it be in or pulled out to start the bugger :confused::confused:

cheers lads i needed that i cant wait to get her stripped and get going on the fabricating side of things specialy now me doris is starting to come round to the idea and me daughter is itching to get at it with a tin full of paint and a brush lol shes only 3 nearly 4

I had seat belts like that in series 2a late 60's

jesus so i must be right in thinking this is a verry early series 3 as its got a few series 2a traits about it such as the rivveted razor edge bonnet and latch off inspection / service hatch under the middle seat

i believe the later ones were bolted or screwed down like in my 80s series 3 :cool:

to be honest im still shocked at the lack of tinworm there is for its apparant age

and this coupled with the chicken poo and feathers all over the place backs up the sellers statement of it being barn stored most of its life and used seasonally such as lambing season and things :):):)
