That's maybe an exaggeration

Battery connected.

Key fob locking and unlocking door.

Dash lights on

Usual window reset messages & altenator fault appeared.

Turn key you hear a click under dash but no engine turning.

All looks fine at starter etc

Is there something I'm missing with electronics

Chris

Starter was ok before engine change..

Had it out and tested with jump leads and battery all ok.

Was wondering if it could be something electronic

A small wire attached to your starter by crappy spade connector may be the culprit if wet and covered in mud and cow sh1t.
It's the starter motor 'trigger'.

Got her turning over but can't get her to start.

Key fob works ok to unlock doors.

The alarm/immobiliser red light on top of dash doesn't work.

Was thinking maybe immobiliser is on.

Would engine still turn over if it was on?

If I used EKA code would this switch off immobiliser?

Say my code was 1 2 3 4

For code is it with door locked 4 left the 1 left, 2 right, 3 left & 4 right?

If engine is immobilised you will get a message on dash. "Enter EKA code or press fob". If it is out of sync no message is displayed. What car Diesel petrol?

It's. Dse

If there are no dash messages and it turns over but does not start it could well be out of sync. You will need the use of a diesel Syncmate or a Nanocom to sort it out. The security code in the engine ECM needs to be written to the BECM. Have you changed the engine ECU?

If It's turning over then it won't be an EKA Problem. As mentioned it's more likely to be a sync issue, that a Syncmate or Nanocom will sort out.

For reference, EKA is entered by turning 4x to LOCK, then 1st digit to Unlock, 2nd to Lock, 3rd to Unlock, 4th to Lock, and then one final turn to Unlock.
The final turn to Unlock should then unlock the rest of the doors, and allow the vehicle to be started.

Ok, without spending a fortune can anyone recommend where to get a an mate or similar.

Or even better anyone around the Edinburgh on the forum got one I can borrow or rent one from.

I live close to forth road bridge.

My mate has a Snsp On Solus?

https://www1.snapon.com/diagnostics/us/SOLUSUltra

Would this work.

Thanks

Would not think so. You could try. But a diesel Syncmate or Nanocom will certainly do it.

Not sure about the Snap On tool, but I'm guessing it probably won't communicate with the BECM to write the code in.

I have Syncmates for hire for all 3 engine types. £35 including postage (RM 1st Class signed) plus £50 deposit which is refunded when it's returned. Drop me a PM if that's any help.

Marty where you based?

If no one local has one I'll be right back to you?

I go on holiday week on Wednesday. So ideally like to be done before hols or just after.

I'm based in swindon, but have sent them out all over the country before, they usually show up next-day.

I go away on Sunday 21st for work and am not back home until about the 21st September, but am about this week to send out if needed.

Cheers,
Marty.
