hi all, i am new to the landrover world and i have got a series 3 wich is in desperate need of a new chassis. The engine an gearbox runs fine an bodywork is all good. The bulkhead is ok but needs footwells repairing. Now for the question, i will be using this as an every day truck and i am thinking about modenising it. Was thinking about using a 90 300tdi chassis so i could break a disco for parts an go from leaf springs to coil. Is this possible?
If this is a rediculus idea could i have your suggestions on how to modenise the series and make it more comefy on the road. or are leafs not as bad as people make out? if not i would still want to swap the engine an poss the gearbox to make it a lil last thirsty :)
Oh an i have been offered a 300 disco for cheap so engine an axles ect are no prob.

Thanks in advance

Don't let the DVLA find out - that counts as a radical modification and they may want it SVA'd (or whatever the new equivalent is) and Q plated! You might find your next MOT interesting, too....

ok thanks for the heads up. have decided against that idea now and just gonna keep with leafs an put a 300tdi lump in with the rest staying standard :)
another quick queastion, how much would my 2 1/4 petrol lump be worth, it starts an runs fine covering only about 60,000 but app its a recon lump so could be alot less.
