Sounds more like the timings out, mine would only run for a second then die,

No doubt it is, I'll play about with the dizzy position tomorrow!

Was just trying to get it into a rough position today :) hopefully if its just timing and the MAF I'll be ok to take it for a spin tomorrow!

Depending on the seat box strengthening though, need to put the braces in so it can take the weight of the seats and me

Must admit from my knowledge of 4 pot petrol engines it does sound like timing.

Get your timing bang on till it runs then sort plugs etc to get it perfect.

Sounds like its nearly there dude!!

Right it sounds better on idle and I fitted the exhaust but it wont rev ?

If I pull the cable or push the MAF flap it dies then starts again…..I don't have a vac hose on the dizzy and no idea how the fuel advance is and Mark mentioned throttle position sensor ?

Video uploading anyway

The last vid I saw you didn't have the pipe between the MAF and the plenum fitted, it will never run right without this. Also most flapper MAF sensors that I test the adjustment screw don't function as it should.

Did not know that!

I've got some big silicone pipe so I'll sort that out tomorrow :)

Will adjust it down a fraction a turn until it gets slow ish

Air flow into the engine moves the flap, more flow = more flap movement this affects the injector open time and consequently gives you the correct mixture at various revs
