New heater blower/fan unit plumbed in. 50cm length of 83mm dia ducting, good fit on both the heater box and the 3inch fan housing.

A little noisy with the engine off but cannot be heard over the 2.25 diesel!

Lower part of the dash repaired, painted and installed on the bulkhead. Needed a couple of patches welding in, along with with shelf/cover being replaced.

Remote breathers on the axles fitted. 1/8 BSP push fit air line connectors, with a length of 6mm air like running up to the engine bay.

Good chance to change all of the diff, gearbox and transfer box fluid while I'm there.

Diffs and transfer box getting filled with 80/90 GL5, gearbox with MTF94, GL4.

Dashboard should be back soon, so making progress with the washers and wipers before they're covered up.

New spindle boxes fitted, £15 each on ebay.

I'm not sure what rhe usual process is for washer jets, but I purchased a pair of Series 3 long thin ones that didn't fit the new bulkhead very well. Not sure if it was the cheap jets or the aftermarket bulkhead.

Today I popped to AL Services in Bournemouth and grabbed a couple of later defender type, in the hopes they would fit.

Hole size on the bulkhead was fine, as was the reach of the threaded part, but the sides of the outer part fouled on the windscreen. Quick buzz on the bench grinder and they now fit nicely, although I haven't checked if the screen still folds down with this type fitted.

New inline washer pump fitted and plumbed into the Defender washer jets, still yet to test if the wind screen clears them.

A couple of wraps around a coolant hose at the heater matrix to hopefully thaw them out in the winter!

Quick photo of under the passenger seat. ARB twin compressor mounted and relays/wiring for the heated seats. Seats are now back from the upholsterer, so proper photos to follow shortly.

Thanks Mick, shame I missed the big chunk during the rebuild bit I to write up each element over the next couple of weeks now its nearing completion.

Had a stone shatter the windscreen on Monday, but that gave me an opportunity to fold the windscreen down and check the clearance on the Defender type washer jets fitted.

Result, they clear well! Very good upgrade as far as I'm concerned, with only a little bit of work to get them to fit.
