Carb was fitted back on and still no luck so will look at condenser etc this week. It is still popping and spluttering but just not running . Thanks.
Yes, when#1 piston is at TDC the rotor arm should be pointing at #1 cylinder lead. Try moving the lead for #1 cylinder to where the rotor arm is pointing , then (anticlockwise) put #3, #4 then #2. making a note (photo) of where everything is before you move anything, that way if it doesn't work you can put it back where you found it.When piston #1 is at TDC, should the rotor be pointing to ht lead for #1 ? Currently it's pointing towards 3 and 4s direction.
^^ what he saidThe piston is at TDC twice in the cycle take rocker cover off and watch for cylinder 1 inlet valve opening then closing at thispoint piston will be approaching TDC for firing stroke and rotor should be pointing to cylinder 1 lead.
