hello does anyone know how easy it is to get series 1 parts in the uk and where from I would of throught they would be hard to get
series 1 parts

Make sure you get the correct year items as there are changes between pre52 & post 53

It really depends what you're after and how original you want to keep it. Personally i think originality for something of that era will help keep its value.
Dunsfold trust are a great resource and very helpful.
Many things can be overhauled and repaired before they get too bad, often better than trying to source something like an early engine block for example. On the other hand, some parts are still readily available at the likes of Craddocks, John Richards etc, or they can help you source what you need

There is a surprisingly large amount of Series One parts available . If you know where to look . It also depends what you are after . There are a number of people/companies that are remanufacturing hard to find parts .
Your first port of call should be here http://www.lrsoc.com/forum/index.php. Secondly you would be doing yourself a favour by joining the Club where you will find a wealth of knowledge and source of many spares . The club shop sells many remanufactured parts . You don’t need to be a club member to buy from the shop though it would be preferable . The Club magazine carries adverts from a number of sellers who don’t advertise any where else .
The main retailers have already been mentioned , though you would be advised that Craddocks don’t have a very good reputation . There is also Ebay , you can get most things there .

Not that easy if you don’t know the lay of the land and haven’t got someone on the ground to help out . This might be a better starting point http://www.exmod.co.uk/.
I am in the opening stages of possibly importing a Series 40 Land Cruiser from Australia , but I wouldn’t even consider the idea if I didn’t have a friend there who has experience in shipping vehicles around the World . Incidentally I have been quoted a figure of £1,000 to ship one back from Oz.
