Oh totally, I failed to investigate more thoroughly the miuntings of the switches on the dash. Assumed a few things, an yiu know whag they say about assumptions.

Certainly in the future, I shall strip vehicle first and not just template the part.. Basic mistake that a usual over confidence of ability causes. But, hey, I'm human. An being an engineer, I secretly enjoy the added challenge...

OK enjoy yourself. :):)

Current progress, an yes I know I havent put up any pics yet...

Dash still in pieces, and the centre section is still in the lounge.

i have modified the standard Kenwood bracket to fit in into the dashboard recess that i have made. Screen now sits against dashboard with the rear section of it recessed into the old cubby. But, with the bonus that the quick release can still be used and hence the screen can be lifted out in the future. Bracketry and strengthening is being epoxyed into the console part to restrengthen it, looks a bit of a dogs dinner at the moment, but once i have a structure im happy with i can neaten it up.

Several new parts ordered and arrived:
reverse CCD camera
DVBT tuner with usb and SD capability
Connects2, box, to utilise an aux in on the CD changer input to the headunit. Hoping to further modify this with a dual pole switch to keep the changer working , but we shall see with that one.
Amplified digitial antennae for the DVBT

Coming together, just got to finish the console now to a decent state..

thinking of spraying it whilst its out as well, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.

With the console out, i measured, had a mental breakdown and then started cutting and crafting the Kenwood mount into the console.

With everything set, I wired the vehicle for the digital tv, the kenwood control box and the connect2 lead which was used to use the cd changer as an aux input.

A boost gauge? Really?
It isn't OE quality install either. Looks like you've glued a tablet to your dash. Couldn't you have used one of those single din, popup screen jobbies?

Boost gauge was in place as I was using it monitor my progress when curig an issue..

Did the best I could with the things I have. All works as I wanted it too, and does exactly what I was after..

Fail to see the problem really. If you don't like it, ignore it. Easy.

I think with the build up I was expecting it to be a pristine finish, is there not room to recess the screen further into the dash so it doesn't stand as proud as it does?

sorry have to ask...does the boost gauge actually work?

I didn't think the diesel (assuming you didnt retrofit to petrol!) vacuumed? The diesel boost gauges I've seen only display +pressure? Interested to see hear readings you get?

Ditto. If you can make the screen sit flush it will look good IMO. At the moment the screen just looks 'stuck on' , if you get my drift.

Edited to add - does this count as an underpigeon interior modification? :)
