screen install in dashboard

Hmm, I'm currently waiting on a smaller screen as I didn't want one standing proud, or covering the switch panel.

Each to their own, but not how I'd like mine to look.

+1 for the underpigeon :)

Ditto. If you can make the screen sit flush it will look good IMO. At the moment the screen just looks 'stuck on' , if you get my drift.

Edited to add - does this count as an underpigeon interior modification? :)
Aye, there is a dash someone is selling on the Bay with a screen glued to it to look like the original unit, which although looks weird, looks slightly much better as it isn't standing proud.

I believe it does count as Underpigeon.

Unfortunately the screen I have is not able to be flush fitted without completely remanufacturing the console.

Whilst not what I originally set out to do, currently it is what I have. I may try an flush fit it at a later date, but it will take the car off the road for a while.

Could be worse, could have tried to make the car into a l322 or sport..

...Good man yourself

Right, we can all agree that frankly i made a mess of the last time i had a go. So the dash is coming out to be re-done as (now the baby is born) i have more time to do anything. An i really want the screen "in" the dashboard and looking like its not floating lost...

Therefore, has anyone painted there centre console at all and if so could you tell me a paint code to colour match it...

Thanks

I've used standard Halfords black bumper paint to respray mine to get rid of scratches. Looks fine and is slightly harder wearing after a few coats.

Will hopefully have pics of my offering up tonight - just got to fit the rear view camera and put it back together (finished mounting the screen into the console last night).

Out of interest, where did you mount your camera? My plan is to fit opposite side of the reg plate to the tailgate release button.

It just doesn't look good!!

My camera is integrated into a numberplate surround (camera sits above the centre of the number plate), quite a neat little thing really. Only downside is that the camera quality is not as good as was advertised...

Cheers for that - pic?

Sadly mine isn't going back together tonight - apparently the silicone I used to hold it all together was more ****-icone!!

Re-done with (hopefully) better stuff so will probably be the weekend before I get to it. Will post pics then, promise :D

Here's my offering, for what its worth :)

It's only on a rear view camera. The switch at the side switches between coming on with reverse gear, or on with ignition (for towing).
