Well we went round the block a few times this morning. Brilliant fun! Brakes are pulling slightly left but hardly noticeable, I'll adjust them slightly. I've never driven anything this age before.. by my last lap I'd managed to get right round without crunching any gears so it looks like things are ok once have the hang of it. Couldn't stop going round and round once I got into it. Awesome day after three years and a lot of work!

A few shots from a recent trip now the roof is on. I scraped three old coats of black and green off the sides and cat flap with a window scraper. Nice few days in autumn that was with a few beers! Not a final finish of course but at least it’s roughly the right colour now. Astute viewers will notice someone put a LWB roof on here once, cut it to size and banged it down with a hammer! Nice! Well it’s on the list, when a better one turns up I’ll get it..

Loving being able to drive her about now after so much work. Still plenty to do thankfully ! but we are moving house on Monday so I’ll get back on it in the spring and just enjoy it til then.

Good exciting feeling getting it out after major refurb, listening for every rattle and squeak. Looks a lovely job and the roof dents go ok with others.
The rear wheels look off centre and a bit forward , is there a reason for that EDIT: must be normal after checking on other pics

It’s loaded up heavy in the back.. including a spare series gearbox and transfer case Among other things. Could just be that?

As you pointed it out I looked at the photo again and it does look severe so I just went out to check it’s not touching! but up close there’s plenty of space, just a funny angle on the photo and as I say loaded up for our move on Monday

The dust has settled after moving house now. Took her out for the first proper road trip, couple of hours each way. Leaky swivel the only must do job that arose from that. All I've done since moving is swapped the weber for a zenith. Got some jobs lined up for the winter including possibly a new clutch. The bite point is very high and according to the ROP my type of clutch (later type, what it calls 'hydrostatic') isn't meant to be adjusted at either cylinder to account for clutch plate wear. It's not slipping, but if I can't get it to bite nearer the floor I suppose I'm storing up being out in it one day and finding I've now got no clutch. Few more trips this year before taking her to bits though!

Alright!

I'm back with a small update and a [question I moved to the Series Land Rovers section..]

Only thing I've done to her lately is new pinion diff seals front and back as they were both leaking badly, and bled the brakes before taking her up to Gaydon last weekend. That was the first time bleeding brakes with no faff and knew what I was doing and got a good pedal first try. Hoozah! I've made friends with my pressure bleeder and hose clamps it seems..
