S/S Silencer

For those interested. I spoke to Mansfield 4x4 and asked if the picture on their web site is SE88s. They said yes so I asked for a picture of the one they would sell me. Here it is. I'll give Simon a few days to get back to me then order it.

That looks quite different to Simon's back box. I suspect that the silencer section is smaller, hence the price difference. But if there's no alternative, that's what you will have to use.
Let us know how it goes with fitment and sound.

The silencer is a lot shorter. Whether that will affect anything apart from aesthetics I don't no. There is no difference in the price of the two because they are both priced at £150. I have been informed that the noise will be a raspy sporty noise with slightly better performance and MPG. I will be buying this Monday and let you know.

Just fitted 2 on my Td4's. See photo. Bit tricky as tail pipe fouls rear of car and needed to add longer rubber hangers. Also, you can only fit the drivers side hanger BEFORE connecting exhaust to rest of system else you can't get it on !!

Slightly deeper bass note, not intrusive, towbar does not hit silencer anymore. Overall good mod.

was this bought from Mansfield? When I rang them last week they said that the ones they had was going back as they were a few degrees out which is the reason why I'm still waiting on mine

Yes it is a Mansfield 4x4 product and the exit for the tail pipe looks all wrong. Spent a day fitting 2 of them with lengthened hangers and made them fit but I may get in touch and show them how tight they are.

So how PRO-ACTIVE is this !
Mansfield - who are obviously taking note of the importance of this site and what people want - called me today (before I called them) to offer 2 replacement rear silencers. Apparently a jig defect has caused the problem which has now hopefully been rectified. Ralph (of Mansfield) is on the case to trial fit one before replacement and satisfying the order above.
WELL DONE Mansfield - this will indeed set you in good stead for future business from me at least - others suppliers please take note as to how to do customer service !!!
