Well guys and gals, we've spent today doing a recce for this trip and have some nice non damaging lanes which will definitely cater for the inexperienced/shiny off roader. ;)

As Ratty indicated in a previous post, we cannot guarantee that shiny paint might gain a light scratch or two - but it's no worse than pulling in to let someone pass on a narrow country lane.

We have found a mix of easy gravel tracks to a couple of byways which may get a Traction Control light (if you have one) coming on!
There are even a couple of big puddles........

And before someone drops me in it, yes, I did lose my bearings and yes, we did have a confused period where tank tracks and byways were not where they seemed on the map

Despite this, I don't think anyone who attends this taster of taking their Landy off road will be disappointed.

Now we know that a lot of peeps have asked for a place on this trip - I'm sorry to ask this but please can those who have done so post again with the following info:
  • What type of Landy you own.
  • Is it standard spec or modified.
  • Whether you have any off road experience .
  • How many peeps are likely to be in the car.
  • Do you have a CB.
Do not worry - This info will help us to put together groups which we hope will be relatively balanced in driver/vehicle capability.

Zan79 took a few piccies, don't worry, newbies won't be doing this unless they choose to - it's just the old hands like to relieve some, er, stress when they see a biiiiiiiiig puddle. :D

Have not made myself clear.. as far as sorting out a well organised and safe planned days fun for new offroaders like myself i think this is brilliant, all that got my goat was that after the last shindig, (similarly well done) I was saying to robin offhand that I'd like to come down to salisbury in a few weeks for a bit of a play about and just chill and learn about my landrover. No Oh! Facial busyness or planning just a day out having fun and learning! That's what this started to be.. at least I thought!! I'm not saying that this is bad, i think there's been a hyawge lapse of proper comunication on my part, I just figured that his had started out nice and relaxed and unorganised but has now turned into an Oh! Facial day out.

Disco Zan and Boomer dunt get offended that's not what I meant..

and DV I was only tekkin the mick with that post!

Fark me theres dummies everywhere

Nah, aint spat me dummy yet :p

If you want to find out what yur landy can do on the plain, there will be plenty of time for that, an if yooos a good boy we might even tow you back out WHEN you get stuck :D .

The trip to the plain will be nice an gentle, non scratchy for newbies and peeps what like shiny landies, once there you can be a bit more adventurous, stand back an watch or maybe get a ride in a more seriously equipped vehicle.

This is how the trip has always been planned, even if not immediately apparant in the furst fred.

Well am not sure... Apparently I'm far too good for it :p

well you can tow me out coz i was the only one who got stuck yesterday
