Hi, just noticed my p38 1999 4..6 rocker cover gaskets leaking oil on both banks. local agent tells me they are made of rubber a cheap version made from cork.which type is recommended? your views appreciated.

later engines like yours had rubber ,earlier cork ,nothing wrong with either
 
Cork is old school. Yours will have rubber with metal stiffeners. I found the biggest problem is tightening them. It's a 12 point socket with a narrow wall. I just hacksaw a groove across then use a screwdriver. They don't need much oomph on em.
