Rob edge just fook off back to LRO will ya!

rasheed me old matey , what year landcruiser was it? and we have discussed before how unique your p38 is lol, btw wernt you going to great lengths to find a classic?
Yes sir massa massa. Stop being a complete knob and reel your neck in loser.

The LC incident was in 1996 with '94, just before I got the P38. And yes I'm still in the market for a mint LHD LSE but never found one or at least not one they didn't want silly bugger money for!

odd for the landcruiser mate , wasnt a 90 series was it? colorado?

80 series just dont do that so I am told by many and expidition man.

No idea. It was a big curvy one, bit like a whale or dolphin. 4.5 litre engine with a lovely roar. I do remember it got me just 200km for a full tank of 100 litres! They were called VX and some were called Amazon, don't know which is the Colorado.

that should have been the good one rasheed, odd it happened. the colorado is the smaller one they did for similar years but it wasnt as good.

Having owned a fair few LR products over the last 30 years I have a pretty good idea of what longevity means. I have yet too see a P38 with rotten front and rear inner wings. Rear section of chassis and boot floor riddled with corrosion. Shall I continue. A good strong Classic is very hard to find but the P38 doesn't suffer from the rust bug quite the same.

Indeed the word "crap" seems to get used a lot by certain people with regards to the P38 and build quality. Well I've yet to find one speck of rust on my 2000 p38 anywhere. I've seen 20-30 year 2K Mercs with rust holes large enough to pothole down - now that's crap.

I havnt heard much complaints about rusty p38, almost everything else but not rust!

if you never used it it would last forever :p

funny , thats what we are trying to say to you!
Having a high post count doesn't make you more intelligent than anyone else. Especially when 99% of your posts are abusive telling people to "fook off noob" Grow up. See this is a multi quote and only required one post. You have just learned something.

I see a lot of different metal and you would be surprised at the level of corrosion in some very expensive motors.

Rasheed, is your used and abused P38 air spring shod? I want to have a bash a proper offroading (yes I know it hasn't got the approach and departure angles of certain models) but Defender owning mates of mine suck their teeth and talk about airbag woes. Of course the same guys dissed the coil springs of my classic when their models had leaves, now the Defender is coil sprung (which improved it on and off the road) airbags are now the problem. I'm sick of pathetic fanboy ****, assuming my airbags are in relatively good order, will a P38 take a bit of off-road abuse without limping home on its bump stops with a puncture?

Absolutely. The car is bog standard, even a few Britpart bits on it! Just to clarify most people picture crawling around obstacle-type courses when they talk off-roading. All low-range, diffs locked etc. What I do is more like rally stages, fast but on bad or loose surfaces, some stretches with moon-surface potholes, others with abrupt camber changes and a variety of surfaces from sandy to gravelly, hard rutty soil (very slippery in the wet) and some shallow streams with clay or mud beds.

no its just you. not anyone else, do a search if you like.

and its because you lost the argument your now :deadhorse:

but it would be better if you just left and took your attitude with you.

Well as someone who regularly uses his 4x4 on non-stop 12 - 15 hour blasts on pretty rough bush roads.....

rasheed - what on earth are you using your P38 for?! Doesn't sound like competition use as it's standard (no roll cage) - where are you driving in these conditions for this length of time?

Also, any pictures/video footage of it in action? I'm shocked it's putting up with such punishment to be honest!

You started the abuse and don't like having your arse tanned in return. Keep this up and people will think you are a stalker.

You sound surprised Steve. The P38 is very good offroad. Plenty of videos on youtube.

Mine's air sprung and I've never got stuck. Not had a problem with approach or departure angles either - they're at least as good as a Classic when in full off road height anyway and the traction control really helps too. They REALLY don't like deep water though.

Having said that, I did break an air spring on my first Salisbury Plain outing, but it was a brand new spring and it looked to be a manufacturing fault - it cracked completely across the base plate. Extremely disappointing though.

I have managed to get my Dad's 90 stuck on a hill on wet grass...

Cool thanks.

I know P38s have a rep for being good offroad when they were new - I was just wondering if the EAS is as delicate as other Landy owners make out. I suspect not.

Rob...two things : Fett's a really nice chap and, secondly, if you look back, you were the first one to start swearing. Just pack it in. This place isn't usually like this.

No one's discussed the looks of the car. I know it's purely subjective but I just can't live with the way the P38 looks. Am I alone in this?
