hi I know someone will prob just say "use the search bar" but i haveand failed to find a deffinitive answer to my dilemma!

Firstly is there a roof spotlight bar in production for the freelander 1 (2001) or is it home made jobs only? if so where from and how much?

Secondly whats your views on front spots - do you think bumper mounted or "A" bar mounted? and if you think "A" bar which one is the best? Chrome or plastic? and the best place to get the "A" bar from?

Thanks for any help!!

Simon

Only home made atm. Mine needs adjusting due to the amount of light coming through the windscreen.

I think bull bar mounted looks better than bumper mount personally. Just waiting for a black bar to come up at the right price.

You could always mount on a single roof (rack) bar. Is it for a 3 or 5dr? Thule do a kit for mounting bars on a Hippo 5dr without factory roof rails, which I think is listed for the 3dr as well. Part no. 1191 bolts to the factory roof rail mounts on a 5dr...

its a 5 door and i got the factory roof rails just need the cross bars! if i put one cross bar as far forward as possible would that work? or is it still a way back? Also does anyone know where i can get a chrome "A" bar?

DSC_0084.JPG here is mine the ones on top are on a roof rack, I made the roof rack myself a few years ago for my previous Freelander but now needs new lights on which I am going to do ,on my A Frame they are KC,s expensive but worth it ,I always say buy the best you can afford and they will last you the ones on top are Hella and were from another car and are about 15 years old .a few years ago some one did make a single light bar but have not seen any for a while

Yeah the problem is too low and too far forward. Also the freelander screen is very raked compared to discos and fenders. Which doesn't help. I have some time Monday so I am gonna have a play with my light bar then.

I was going to get some of the "Peaks" they used to have on spot lights only on the top ,but put them underneath, to stop the light hitting the dash ,if I shove the roof rack right back then it solves the problem but looks stupid as it over hangs the back, and also if I shove it forward it solves the problem but still looks stupid ,at one time I did try a little black gaffer tape at the bottom of the lens it stopped the problem but look stupid . so when I buy the next set of lights as the ones on the roof rack are going a bit on the reflector, I am going to try and get some with the protector on like my KC's and that will stop the light going onto the dash, but I am glad the dash is black and not cream like my last one as that blinded me but I have a switch in line to switch them off when headlights are on full.
