I have been glued to this so far...................I have to ask though, Where did you get those seat covers????????????I want!!!!!

Aye, I kinda agree, I just like to keep me arse wet nowadays, had enough of that in the past.
Just try not to kill the alternator next time :p

Haha. It's kind of annoying to live with day to day though being this muddy. Especially if you got your best rags on and get em covered on the way to somewhere nice! :p

I'm not making any promises I seem to be attracted to large puddles/mud holes! :D

Alternator will likely recover pal

When I was king of all things mud holey back in the day mine was always passing out

Used to douse it in water and a couple of taps from the hammer to bring it back to life on a pnp then a good wash out when home (sometimes even removed and thrown in a bucket to soak) kept it going for years to come

I still have it, noisy bearings forced removal but it still works :)

Thanks Sam! Tis good information to know. :)

I'll pull it out this weekend and give it a thorough wash and see if it can be saved. If that don't work will try the bucket trick :)

Haha cheers! :D Plenty more to come ;)
Seat covers are off eBay. :)

Ah love to go to the Plains. Mates have been but I missed out.

Plains do look good..... I've not actually driven them yet even though I live so close:eek:
Although me and a few others are thinking of planning a trip after new year.

Seat covers are an ebay job, disco camo!

Spot on that man! :D

Gotta order myself a set of them soon.

Do it they are worth there weight in gold! Look good and practical! :D

Especially when mud get chucked in off the tyres:cool: through the open windows

I don't either really :p I've probably been to the pub once in about 3 months.

Haha. I've come to the realisation that I can't actually own nice clothes when owning a landy I always manage to get oil or crap on them somehow so gave up buying nice stuff.

Plus I'm always poor owning the damned money pit.:D

But I wouldn't have it any other way.

Haha, that sums it up about perfectly for me :D

It's a love hate relationship at the best of times, or more of the hate at the moment  but I wouldn't have it any other way either :brick:

Nothing much to update again but have some decent pictures of the finished winch bumper and my latest change clear indicators for the front. :)

I wanted a slimline bumper not one that stuck out miles and miles like some of the ones you can buy.
It's also specifically made with a 2" body lift in mind and think it hides it quite well. :)

And the view underneath. With the angled part so there is no gaping hole between steering guard and bumper. :) makes fitting quite awkward but oh well. :p

Next job is to sort out the rear end with built-in recovery points so I can rid of the damned tow bar. Only kept because it's a rear recovery point and protects the rear end slightly.

Like the angled bit to suit the steering guard - might have a go at doing that on mine

Cheers. :) Go for it!

I kinda nicked the idea from the tubular winch bumpers you can buy. Like this. Discovery 1 Tubular Winch Bumper But thought it was an excellent way to hide the lift and and not look massive or stupid.

Also I was going to get some largish holes profiled in the angled bit too to match the steering guard but just wanted it done as the body lift went on and it looked horrible with the standard bumper on with a massive gap!

I may make another yet albeit more heavy duty than this one.:D

Winch bumper looks lovely Rob, really want to have a go at making my own winch bumper for the body lift too. Shame I have little skill and no time lol

Cheers bud. :)

Just build one :p believe me it's not as hard as it looks. I'm sure you have more than enough skill to do it. :)
Time well... I don't have much either but love doing it so if it means being in the garage until 11pm/midnight then so be it.:D

Speaking of which....... I best get out there in a mo. The bloody thing has developed a whine under acceleration in all gears. :(

Hello all. Thought I'd get on and update about the horrible noise I'm now getting under acceleration.

So took the front prop off, drove it up the road.......No more noise! :)

Front prop ujs are on there was out but not causing the problem I don't think. Usually a vibration if a prop uj.

So proceeded with operation rebuild the 2 month old rebuilt axle rebuild......:D

It has begun.....

Safe to say upon stripping down the n/s so far I'm glad I did!

Lots of metal swarf in the swivel housing, which was the one shot ****e you can buy to go in said swivels.

Really wish I'd filled it with ep90 instead now like I was going to.

So as light was fading fast pulled out the shaft with cv and found the cv had lots of play..... I mean it's so buggered I can move it more than 5mm by pulling the main shaft and stub shaft.
My spare has no play at all.

So will strip the rest of the axle tomorrow and hope the rest of its OK. Not that I'm fussed it'll only take me a couple of hours to clean and rebuild and has lots of spare parts.:D
