I just bought my Freelander TD4 for €250, with a dead clutch, but it's an auto box, an hour later, box drained, a litre of brown muck came out, 3 litres of ATF, and it's a runner. I'm still in shock.

Via a website?Probably from one of those well-known mechanical geniuses - a frenchman...
No, off an English guy in France on FB Marketplace, had been on for a fortnight, I'm a marine mechanic, but don't really know automatic transmissions, so thought it was worth a gamble at that price.Probably from one of those well-known mechanical geniuses - a frenchman...
Some random English bloke in France.Where did you buy it from?

It's a massive job the price I said included labour costs but reading what else is wrong there will be alot of money to spend on it.So somebody with the ability to do the above would be willing to buy then maybe?
Are you the same Barking Mat from the mig welding forum? If so, welcome to the mad world of LandyzoneNo, off an English guy in France on FB Marketplace, had been on for a fortnight, I'm a marine mechanic, but don't really know automatic transmissions, so thought it was worth a gamble at that price.

Stop ruining my online personahes a good guy
If it was an auto with free shipping, I might be interested in it as a parts car. From your pics, its obviously in far worse condition than my F1 parts car heap, but there must be some decent bits on it.View attachment 318416View attachment 318417View attachment 318418View attachment 318419View attachment 318420View attachment 318421View attachment 318422View attachment 318423View attachment 318424View attachment 318425View attachment 318426View attachment 318427View attachment 318428View attachment 318429View attachment 318430View attachment 318431View attachment 318432View attachment 318433View attachment 318434View attachment 318435View attachment 318436View attachment 318437View attachment 318438View attachment 318439

How did you ever pass a driving test? You're not an Uber driver by chance?
I take it, it was in better condition when you took it over. You married the wrong sisterI blame the wife
We’ve had it 10 years and yes we were lucky to get it off my sis in law at the price we did and they have regretted it since as have been through many cars since and had problem after problem.I take it, it was in better condition when you took it over. You married the wrong sister
It’s on eBay and market place so see how it goes. Its a bit of a snotter on the bodywork, plus the mechanical issues. I'd ask 750 or set a reserve of £500 and see how far an auction goes. Scrap man would give you about £500 on a good day
Good luck! It’s on eBay and market place so see how it goes.
