I met Freddy a few times and was astounded by his energy and happiness in the face of everything he was going through. I feel privileged to have known such a lovely chap with a heart of gold.
Just a true gent and all round nice guy, if only there were more like him.

I learnt of this sad news on FB a few days ago.
James was an all round top bloke and an inspiration to us all with his courage and candor in facing his illness and making the most of the time he had left.
He'll be missed, he influenced everyone who met him, another great person who left this world much too early

I met him at the Bakewell event with his son. Lovely guy.

Celebration of Freddy s life is held on Mon 20th April at 10.30 at the Holy Trinity Church in Frome, Somerset

Access to parking via Goulds ground/Trinity row.

Can I just add that although on LZ he is Freddy ..... family know him as James

Its quite nice actually, that someones posts still remain. I never recall speaking with him on the forum but have just checked through some posts and even though he is no longer with us personality, humor, opinion and genuine character still exist.

Quite a fitting epitaph.

Word of warning to all of us..... people may remember you based on what you post on this forum in years to come.

One fond moment we were all stat down at the Bristol and West.
Freddy007 brings out cards against humanity and we all play it.

So the two sides of Freddy007 were his humour and at same time he didn't offend anyone with his cheeky humour and one of the few nobody had a bad word to say about his actions.

I first met Freddy at the chip run, he was in our group and therefore got one of my courtesy Cornish pasties

I look at him on the vid we made and see how well and happy he looked. Then we met up with him on our convoy to the bouncing bakewell ....his Sat Nav skills were non existent so we took over the lead and got there eventually

... we were still laughing about it months later!..what a thoroughly nice chap and we won't ever forget him

The last I spoke with him he was still hoping to make it to lz11, he'd just received bad news from the docs and knew it wasn't likely.

I don't think he was under any illusions or in denial.....just wanted something else to aim for. He'd been aiming for things for a long time and I'm thankful for the ones he made.

Wish I could make the funeral but its the birthday of my daughter who's in hospital so we're all going over en mass to make a happy occasion of it.

That was an awesome game and made the night better than ever. I think I should buy it in memory of James for use at other meets
