Riding High

Mine has done that since I got it three years ago. I have had it on RSW, Testbook and Autologik (I think). None of them show faults however I once got a 'bad connection' on a height sensor. This was sorted and didn't show up again. It can go days without any problems, staying at normal ride height then lowering at motorway speed and coming back up again on slowing. Sometimes it forgets to stop and rises to wade or extended with the top light flashing. It can be caught if I notice it right away but if I let is rise completely it will take a few minutes to revert to standard. Sometimes if I am carrying a load or pulling a trailer it will behave which makes me think height sensors. It's as though it senses bottoming out and rises which is normal but it's quite annoying when on a level straight road. In the past year I have replaced the pump and air springs and re-calibrated all the heights as per the above chart. It did it again tonight on the way home. It will be interestig to follow this thread for a new slant on what the cause could be.

Its plugged in all working and has identified 51 faults!!!! Things like RR and RL stuck closed. Same valves stuck open also. There is also a Tx (whatever that is constantly running it up over a 100 at present. Can i clear these?
This indicates you don't have a good comms link....

You will need to get a good idle first...try reinstalling the USB drivers etc....you can't have valves stuck open and closed at the same time!!

Really - I put a smiley face thinking I was being funny - but you're seriously saying the Car battery has been flattened in the short time you have been playing!!

Duff Battery - Dodgy RF Reciever - Failing Diode Pack in the Alternator, all will kill a battery in a few hours.....

I think your battery is on its last legs....

Well the ignition was on for about 30 mins. Strangely enough the AA tested the battery only 3 days ago and said it was all good. It's a genuine LR battery, looks new as well.
30 minutes is peanuts - think you have either a duff battery or a drain....

The RF receiver is the most likely cause, this little box of tricks is what picks up the Key Fob signal to lock/unlock the doors....

The early ones were none to bright and picked up alsorts of Radio Signals which it would then wake up the BeCM to check the code...the BeCM would throw the spurious code out and then wait 3 minutes before going back to sleep again only to be woken up by the RF Receiver all over again to check another code...then wait 3 minutes to go to sleep again...this constant waking and sleeping of the BeCM is enough to drain a battery almost over night...

If your battery went flat in 30 minutes, then it was on it's last legs either physically or charge-wise before you starting playing around for 30 minutes...

Thanks Saint. I'll investigate further tomorrow when i get it going again.
No Probs - defo look into the battery thing.....lets take an example that you have a 90A battery running at about 85% efficency = 76.5A

to drain 76.5A in 30 minutes would mean a drain of over 150A....and that is a fecking lot....the only thing it can be is a duff battery - Datatek or A N Other will tell me I am wrong, but 30 minutes is to quick to me!

thats like leaving all the lights, heated seats, rear screen, indicators and everything else on at the same time!

new battery time!!!!! battery megastore (AHEM) (seriously, no affiliation :))

That means you do not have good communication. Usually a USB driver problem.

You are right Ant, but the odds are the battery was less than half charged before he started. Also things will shut down before the battery is totally flat so your 90AH my only have 20AH remaining, still should have held up for 30 minutes though:)

mine did this for a few weeks, really annoying too!!

would even send it's self to wade height even if I had it locked in motorway height?!?!

turned out it was just water in the connector for the LHF height sensor? Cleaned up and been fine ever since
