Ive gotten one through a defender once, was not to bad actually, cant see the series been much different.

Think I used a lengh of fencing wire or something, took a few attempts but got it through in the end.

Put a flexible fish through first then make a rod with a circle on the end from a piece of wire to hook it up and grab with long nose pliars through the chassis hole then attach a cord and pull through...fuse box go modern blade...are you ok with doing electrics just asking cause some of your other threads were a bit scratching my head here what am I missing here...electrics are not the same as nuts and bolts...

I use carbuilders solutions they send down here and have everything...sometimes you have to go out of the 4x4 suppliers... @Stanlysteamers you kit car builders know that though...

This site lets you buy correct colour coded wire by the meter

Carbuilder solutions are cheaper I think and they have fuse boxes that light up blown fuse it's been a while since I bought from.them though..

Thanks Doug, now what size / thickness wire do I need to get ? and which fuse box or boxes, is ther anything else I may need ?

What size Amp wires do I ned for lights , will one size do all the lights as in the multicore cables they are mostley just 16.5 amp and 1 at 25 amp. 10 Core Cable - Per Metre | Car Builder - Kit & Classic Car Parts Specialist
also will I need more ampage for the likes of wiper motor ect

https://www.autosparks.co.uk/land-rover-series-3-long-wheelbase-chassis-wiring-harness. This is made for 109 with tank at rear,. Mine has tank under drivers seat, what's the difference, is there any reason it wont fit mine ??

Fuel sender wiring might need some 'adjustment' ...

The series 3 has a multi pin plug by steering column series 2A does not.
So wires will not reach your dash connections and you will end up cutting the plugs off.
By the steering column is not a good location for lots of joints without proper connector.

Well I cant bloody win with this, have emailed Autosparks to see if they can do one for 2a.
What does the 2 A have instead of the multiplug ?

If you can get a plug, (both sides), you could make up a short fly leads for the dash ...

I can soon chop this plug off in first pic, it is on a series 3 bulkhead, 2nd and third pics are whats on my series 2a bulkhead, Im sure they are the original ones, someone had cable tied a plastic sheath thingy on to it.

Better off salvaging the whole of the Series bulkhead wires circuits are very similiar.

Dont think my Mate would be very happy if I took the whole wiring, he wont part with anything. could have got away with chopping the plug off I would of blamed my Grandson
