Windows work from the cjb behind the glove box, it’s a real struggle to get out, all dash has to come out,had mine out last year as my passenger window developed a mind of its own, got it out and contact cleaned plugs and it’s been ok since. I believe you can wire around the relays as there fixed into the cjb and are none replaceable.
Cjb is coded to individual car and cannot be over written, £500 new so hope you don’t need one of them.

Many thks , weird thing is the passenger window will work from its own switch

Central locking also ok
Alarms
Doors open and close fine

Had a look at the drivers door door loom as that’s the one where the connector isn’t located correctly and water has got in as I saw from the picture

But how the hell do u get to it

The CJB is all dry, carpets as well , indeed fingers crossed that doesn’t have to come out

Just had a terrible thought , when I moved the fuse box in the engine bay the loom goes onto the CJB , know that loom moved and hope I haven’t pulled a wire out from the back of the CJB

Wouldn’t of thought so seeing there are connected by terminal connector blocks and would assume nothing would work

Suppose there’s not enough room to check behind the CJB

Got to get that drivers loom out first and see what the score is , just got to work out how it comes out

Thks again

If you take the door card off and check you have power at the connector to the window motor and it alters from window switch then it’s either the window motor or cjb

Many thks, funny enough I’ve just fitted a brand new window regulator

Hope to god it’s not that CJB , it is all dry though

Wondering the easiest thing first is the drivers door loom , before I go into tougher items to get out

Can u unscrew the CJB and pull it forward if u undo the front loom connectors plse so can check

Suppose don’t want to delve deep into the CJB first before checking other avenues first

Thks as always

You cannot get to the cjb unless you remove the glove box and most of the dash. Then you lay on your back in passenger footwell and take all the skin off your hands trying to unfasten the plugs on it. Not a quick job

Ouch , oh joy my back will really look forward to that , stretcher plse nurse, lol

As u kindly indicated all power came from the CJB I thought I better check I tested all the fuses , nope I missed a few

There’s fuses all related to the windows

If I’m reading it right , CJB sends power to the drivers switch then back over to the passenger side

As the passenger window works on its on switch I’m wondering them if the internal loom is ok but the loom from the drivers door loom has the bad connection, ????.

Hope that makes sense and what do u think plse

Always good having another opinion

Also can’t find a wiring pin identification for the drivers door connector , just so I then know where I should have power etc

Would u happen to know where a pic is please

Many thks and as always extremely appreciated

There is some info on the D3 forum regarding the window operation, unfortunately still at work so can’t search for it but it’s from the LR workshop manual, not sure it gives a description of pins in connection though

Thats what I used but it’s not a great lot of help. Infact when my window started misbehaving I took it to an autoelectrician, who knew less about the system than me and after 2 hours investigation, washed his hands of it

Sounds like a multimeter job then and me working through it step by step, lol

Remember when I traced that airbag light fault out, that was fun, only took a few months seeing there’s so much wire in these vehicles

Will start next week on it with basics and go from there

Of course will update info what I find
