You can get away with just swapping the electronic bits on the top of the FIP. there are threads that cover doing this.
Inlet manifold can be left, block the EGR.

Was thinking more in terms of the Omega engine maybe being older than the P38 one so swapping the pump for a newer one would make sense.

Thanks for the offer but I'm looking for something a bit more built up preferably with the fuel pump fitted so I don't have to set the timing.

Yeah thinking about the Omega unit I am going to keep looking for a late model rangie lump to make the swap a little more straightforward
