In short, I have little patience so when the unions of the old brake lines were being awkward bastards, brute force and disregard for salvaging the old ones won. Now i need new ones.

Do I fabricate new ones with lengths of copper brake pipe and spend a couple of quid buying the tool to add unions to?
Do I replace everything with braided hoses?
Do I do half and half?

If I should do braided ones, where is the best place to buy from?

Cheers

I re-made all my copper lines and fitted braided hoses. Quite satisfying to do really. Just take your time making the pipe flares.
Once you've got the tool you never have to worry about twisting a pipe off and being stuck.

Oh don't go for this tool though

it's a load of junk. Get a decent flaring tool.

It looks like the copper option will be far cheaper. Funny you mention that flaring tool, i was just looking at one identical to it on ebay.
Where abouts did you buy yours and how much?

I used one of these Flaring tool Not really though choice. It used to be my Dads. It works very well though.
I bought that ebay one as I needed to flare a larger pipe but there's nothing to hold the flaring button straight. It's more about luck if it crushes the pipe straight. I'd go for the Sealey one or better if you can.

Have to agree invest in a decent vice mounted brake flare tool they are so much easier to use and make a better flare

Them if it was me I would replace the standard rubber flexi with braided items
