Quiet lucky I stumbled across this bargain, a well looked after Discovery 2 with 115,000 miles on the clock for under £2500. Has all the extras my off roader doesn't so I'm happy I have a new daily thats comfy and not bad on fuel. First things I have planned are a full service (I have bought everything just waiting it to arrive) already have done the EGR delete and hopefully this weekend I'm going to put a straight through exhaust on.

Fitted the exhaust at the weekend sounds so much better and seems to pick up speed quicker now , will try and get some videos at the weekend.
Only problem I have now is the power steering fluid does not look right sort of looks like water has got in somehow and really aerated and I seem to have a slight coolant leak from two places but need to investigate more.

You know you will get offers of half eaten mars bars on here....LOL.

So why you selling? got sick of it?

Cheers
Yeah I know LOL, thought I might give it a go just in case someone is interested
Nah I love it BUT I have bought myself another 300tdi for green laning and towing plus its cheaper to repair, other than that it's been great.

Just a quick update I've kept the truck but only because it owes me so much money I'll never see it again so decided to just spend more on it, a couple of months ago it had trouble starting so I replaced the fuel pump ( bought a cheap one and now the fual gauge doesnt work) fuel pressure regulator has been replaced and the air bleed filter on the filter housing, I also had to replace the costly fuel strainer in the head of the engine as that snapped in half when I tried to remove it, then a couple of weeks later the battery went, then last but not least I got stuck at a petrol station because after filling it up it was dead all lights came on like usual but no starter motor movement, So now I've gotta replace what I believe to be the inhibitor switch on the gearbox as the M + S lights were flashing at me when it didn't want to start, and whilst I'm at it might as well change the brakes and get a proper VDO fuel pump.

Keep at it, by the time that lots fixed you should have a pretty well sorted disco that you know inside out. Stick with the devil you know ;)

Well as much as I wanted to keep it I've decided to put it up for sale now that I've replaced the fuel pump and the XYZ switch. Still got my trayback for now and once I've sorted out the funds later in the year and maybe buy a Disco 3.
