after a gravity fed gun that does a good job for a reasonable price for diy spraying - not 2 pack obviously :D - say capable of doing up to a lwb series.

just binned the cheap crappy Clarke one I bought a few tears ago and never used till now.

any recommendations please chaps?

my compressor is 14.5 cfm 8bar

Look for a second hand devilbiss/sata/iwata. Or if your budget can stretch to a new one then even better. You usually get a couple of fluid tip sizes with a newer one. A 1.2 and 1.3 should see you right for any paint/primer/lacquer. A lad at work has had his devilbiss gti for around 15 years or so and it still sprays like new.

Primer you should be at 1.7 really

1.2-1.3-1.4

Water, base, lacquer

1.3 with lacquer was too much with the new guns we got. 1.2 does base, clear and wet on wet perfectly in our two guns. High build has a separate gun with bigger tip.

Edit: completely down to personal preference and the product being used. But we've found two good all round guns with GTIs

I would aim for a reputable brand and look for a second hand one on eBay or something. You can always buy spare parts and seals aswell if anything needs replacing

thx for the replies, buying a used one hadn't occurred to me, will have a look on the bay.

I knew of devilbiss' reputation but that's a bit too much for me to lash out on something that will get occasional use.

saw a vid on u tube of a chap using 1.4 for putty primer but he thinned it out iirc.

see if I can find a sata
