Hi all. I'm having a bit of a predicament with my 1977 series 3 SWB. It has been lifted by the previous owner using extended military shackles, parabolic springs and 33 inch mud tyres. It is very impressive and looks great. My problem is that the standard Pro-comp ES3000 shocks that are recommended and supplied by all of the Land rover suppliers wont work in this application as they have a 12 inch to 21 inch range of travel which would top out while driving over an undulated surface such as a poor secondary or tertiary road. My datum point (the distance between the centre of the chassis mount and the spring plate mount) while the landy is standing on my drive on level ground is 19.5 inches so you can immediately see my problem. I have found suitable alternative pro-comp ES3000's which have a travel range of between 14.5 inches and 24.5 inches which would give me 5 inches of travel in either direction. The problem is that these alternative shocks have to be purchased in the US attracting tariffs and postal charges which makes the cost quadruple and ridiculous. My question is, do any of you know if there are UK suppliers of Pro-comps or other similar makes like rough country shocks where I can buy these alternatives?
Thanking you all in anticipation.
