P38A Rear hub assembly FTC3223 from Eurospares anyone tried them?

Easier to just grind all bolts off and fit new, I think. They tend to be solid.

On mine the bolts had corroded to the inner of the bush so just cut them with a hacksaw, fortunately i had all new nuts and bolts for all the bushes in the complete set i got off a member on here

Well they’ve arrived. Green Eurospares labels on the boxes, not Britpart.

They look okay…. Can’t see any branding on the bearings they've used…. we’ll see what they’re like once fitted. If they only last 100 miles I’ll report back!

Got nearly one side done today..... At 159,000 miles and 27 years the hub assembly bolts, the rear caliper bolts, and the rear mud shield bolts had rusted solid. Heat and hammering got them all off, but I've mangled some of the heads, so I'm going to order new before tightening it all back up. It'll pay me back in a few years when I'm trying to get them off again!

Anyway, the Eurospares hub has gone on okay. The holes are in the right place, and everything lined up without any fettling required. I've never done rears before, but you don't get the blanking plug or the abs sleeve (and rubber seal) with the Eurospares hub assemblies. I had to drift them out of the original with a suitable socket and extension. They went in the new one cleanly though.

The old one was FUBAR, grinding, graunching, grumbling and full of rust by the looks of it. Strangly I couldn't feel any of that with the wheel on though....




When I've got it all back together, we'll see what we see. Looking forward to pressing the old ones apart to see if any of it is salvagable!

Finished the other side of the car just now.... Apart and back together in just over 2 hours. It's soooo much easier when the rusted bolts play ball!! Still going to replace all the bolts with new, the ones holding the mud shield on were just little spikes of rust really!

Once my new bolts arrive I'll torque everything up and we'll see how it drives.
