Rear door swing

As this is my first discovery, can anyone tell me if the rear door has no limiting mechanism. I find that if I open the door on a hill, it feels as if the door will come right of its hinges when it swings 180. Is this normal?

It shouldn't open to 180 degrees! There should be a stay that stops it at 90

Ahh, I see what you mean, I think the part which attaches to the door has corroded off. Is it straight enough to weld something on or is there a or other way to restore this?

Ok . I was looking at the wrong part. When I look under the door itself , there is a small brace about 7. Inches long. Is there meant to be a second brace?

Should be a little pin in the corner on the panel the check strap fits to.
