As far as I understand timmyt is in recovery from surgery and his Doris isn't really keen on towing let alone loading which is why help is desperately needed.

Spot on beasty...
Yeah just to clarify the confusion.. As mentioned I am post op and can't drive and whilst Mrs timmyt79 is a competent driver she is not at all confident regarding towing etc. It's incredibly frustrating having TWO spare vehicles (110 landy which would only need about an hours work and taxing online and our motorhome) that are both more than capable of towing a car and trailer but yet not being able to recover our 'family' car :-( certainly if I could drive none of this would have caused any more of problem than hiring a trailer. But alas I guess 'sods' law wins again!
I have spoken to crazymac... Only bloody turns out that I know him!!! He is meeting me at car tonight to check it will fit on his trailer, if so we are good to go, if not then I'll hire one.
May I say thanks again to everyone on here for their help especially the moderators and I Will be adding my details to the lzir register

So quick update,
Bmw is now back on the drive after being recovered by local company on flatbed.
Met with CrazyMac lastnight at car but it would not fit on his trailer sadly, the other option would have been for him to tow with a solid bar but due to distance and coupling that with no power steering,no alternator output due to missing belt and being a rear wheel drive auto it was deemed to be too sketchy!
Many thanks to CrazyMac for coming out.top man.

Can't understand why people don't join breakdown services.
AA cost me £150 for the year covers me and Mrs any car or my work vans roadside and relay.
Knowing how reliable landies are , it's a must(I know OP was in a bmw)

Thats a fair point and (sods law again) this is the only time i have been without any cover.Basically i had cover, let it lapse as my mother-in-law told me about an offer from Barclays bank for travel and breakdown insurance as part of a package for £10.50 a month,so allowed my renewal to elapse, opened an account with barclays a week ago and hadnt got around to logging online to add the 'pack'...and yes i have had all the 'i told you so's' i can handle fo rtime being...im not going to live this down for a while....im blaming all the post op drugs :oops:
