Range Rover P38 Locking handset.

My Land Rover dealer can supply one at about £150 plus a fee for programming.
I can also buy one on ebay at a fraction of the cost but can they be re programmed for different vehicles.
Does anyone have any ideals to help this middle aged Landy Virgin out, or should I just make sure I don't loose the only handset.

not too sure about the e-bay keys but they are programmed via a lock/unlock code (by turning the key in the drivers door lock a certain way and pressing the relavant button ) they have to be ordered from germany with chassis number and come pre cut. you can get them from most big landrover sales garages i bought one 2 months ago cost me £95 all ready to go if you get stuck msg me and ill give you the number where i got mine
