There’s plenty to study in the search bar, plus you’ll get to know some real good people, and the fun & banter on here is second to none
If u don’t mind me adding what the other kind members have said , having ur own diagnostics is a great bargaining tool along with a must with modern landies for the future ownership
When I bought my D3 he was claiming it hasn’t been worked on for months and in excellent condition
His face was a picture when he returned after talking to another customer with my iPad in my hand and at the time cheap code reader plugged in, there were fault code after fault codes which showed me at what mileage they appeared
Think it may have been the only time a salesman was speechless
If ur planning to own a modern landy u will save urself a fortune having ur own decent diagnostics , pay for them selves very quickly , inc the convenience of having one at hand 24/7
Lastly couldn’t agree more ref having an AA/ RAC inspection , they are very complicated and need to be carefully looked at prior to purchasing or u can find you’ve just bought a money pit
Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced diagnostic tool and are they easy to use? When codes come up do they explain the fault? Any codes to watch out for?
I’m talking to a dealer later about a 2010 3.6TDV8 with 70,000 miles. Only done 20000 in last 4 years, 2000 last year. Now that’s either a great find or an indicator maybe there are faults in last year and someone trying to shift it..
Also worth doing a online car history check, mine showed up a few issues but nothing we couldn't resolve.
Yes, I have an MOT check on my phone. You can see if issues repeat, if fixed, if mileage stack up. Has it been standing. Good tip.
+1 and get a Nanocom, Blackbox solutions, about £450Personally I'd go V8 with LPG over a diesel.
I mean a proper HPI, stolen, written off type check. Mine has been a write off but for some reason is not shown on the V5.
Might be cost of claim, not damaged as such. Insurance wanted to write off my Fender when a woman hit me, was due to age of vehicle - was nothing wrong with it.

I’d like to develop maintenance skills to do my own service and repairs (up to a base level). What’s the best way to learn the skills? I’d even pay for a night class or weekend training in NE area. Not sure what is out there yet[
Hi U-tube is great for help as well as the Landy Lads and Lasses
JB Motors in East Cramlington usually has an old R/r for sale and he does good work, not too far from you.Top tips. Thanks all.
No she got out and wanted to fight us. As she was okay and didn’t live far we left her to her write off Fez. I had a front bumper needed bending out and hub shaft seal started leakingDid you slap her back...lol
