Right, ive unplugged the pressure sensor & on live data it's showing 220 mpa, the fault code is: P0193 (Fuel rail pressure sensor high input.

Also noticed scrolling down that I also have P040D (Exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor "A" circuit high, ut that may cause ive got a few its unplugged to get to other bits.

The pressure sensor has 3 wires according to the diagram:

Brown/Blue (Ground)
Brown/Blue (Signal)
Grey (Power)

Right, so the readings ive got are as follows:

Power to earth (battery) = 5V
Power to earth (Brown/Blue wire) = 4.98v

Signal to earth (battery) = 0.3v
Signal to earth (Brown/Blue wire) = 0.29v

Signal - power (on the sensor) = 4.69v

These are all back probed (connected to the pressure sensor and probed from the back)

Now, I think that ive cconfused myself even more, but I welcome any feedback & any help is really appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Are you still getting the P0A94 DTC?
Those sensor voltages are fine.
Try back probing the sensor across the 5V & ground pins and giving the harness a good wiggle whilst keeping an eye on the voltage at the sensor

Cleared the faults, disconnected the pressure sensor, tried to start it (only turned over a couple of times before the battery went flat) and the P0A94 dosnt seem to of reappeared..

So what does that tell me?

Thanks

That either your battery is no good or it was not sufficiently charged. You need good battery voltage to power the ECU's and start one of these vehicles.

...And that something you've done, disconnected or moved has changed since the fault was there.
Tell us more about how it came to cut out - were things dimming / slowing, did it splutter or cut-out as if the key had been turned off?
TBH I'm not surprised the battery is discharged given everything it transpires you've done, plus various voltage checks, clearly it needs recharging - if you can, keep a charger connected whilst working on the car as a rudimentary battery support unit.

I was driving as normal (very wet roads, but no floods), and it just cut out (Just as if id turned the key off & rolled to a standstill).

I will put it on charge in the morning, but welcome any other advice/pointers

Thanks

So electrically, everything else was working fine? wipers were normal speed, lights were not dimmed etc.?
It's worth pointing out that whilst the P0A94 DTC is current, the engine will not start as power to sensors (inc. CKP) will not be present, this will also prevent any other meaningful DTC's being set.
I'd suggest having a good look around any parts of the engine harness you've move or unplugged, looking for chafed or damaged wiring, water ingress etc.

Everything was working fine, Already had a real good look at the loom,

Is there any way that I can test the crank position sensor using live data as I remember playing around with the live data and one said crank & when I was turning it over, it said "no"??

Thanks

Ok, can anyone tell me what the live data should read on the pressure sensor live data with it hanging loose?, what im thinking is, to read the live data (which has been 17mpa) and start unplugging fuses from the engine bay & cabin, & see if I get any change in the pressure sensor the eliminate what circuit is at fault.

Am I right in trying this?? or am I just wasting time?

Thanks

aI've Still got this problem where my 4.4 tdv8 wont start, I've managed to get a couple of hours on it over the weekend & hopefully someone can help me..

I've disconnected all 3 sensors (on the pump, on the left hand rail at the back & on the front of the right rail).

I did a re-read of the codes with everything unplugged & get the following, which are rellivent (Dont know if they give any more of an idea)

P0193-17 Fuel Rail Pressure sensor high input
P0090-13 Fuel Pressure regulator control circuit

I would appreciate any advice please.

Many thanks

That just confirms what you've unplugged, did you manage to get an engine speed value at cranking?

I've managed to have a bit of a play today & noticed that when I do a network test, some of the modules don't seem to be working (unless someone can correct me)..

Can anyone give me any more of an idea from the network test & photo's (Network test is here: )

Thanks in advance

Optional (square box) modules not responding is fine, only focus on the circle modules, and then only the top row HS-CAN. There is a DTC in the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) - as mentioned before, some DTC's won't set until the engine is running, use measurements to check engine speed, airflow & temperature, LP fuel pressure, HP fuel pressure & PCV duty cycle. I've never tried it with SDD but it may be worth looking at cylinder offset values - not even sure they'll be active (or valid) at cranking though.
