05 so first of the Ford/ bmw cross overs. Which if I’m not mistaken gets later styling, later interior but older running gear eg Td6 and GM gearbox.

Yes I think it's a bit of a cross over. It has a 2006 front end but I'm pretty sure that was done bodged in by the previous owner. The wings have been hacked back to make the headlights fit and the headlight wiring is just a mass of bullet connectors.

Same engine and gearbox ect, same high dash and big center vent and touchscreen radio,
07 models got terrain response and the dash sloped away from windscreen, same touchscreen as the 05 but a smaller center vent, also dial font changed,

Both similar. Apart from dash really. Thing that always stands out to me is 05 or 55 onward got the Ford era seats where before we’re bmw “comfort” seats with split back rest.

Otto is insured sdp only, hes currently our daily driver while waiting for the repairs on the little ford. Great to waft about in and ideal for wife's current bad back but awkwardly chunky for tight city driving. Love the relaxed magic carpet for the long motorway hauls though.
Definitely seems happier the more he's used, as with most machines.

totally agree there for relaxing motorway work. My other half agrees about RR being bit chunky for city work, to the point she refuses to drive it in city’s for reversing and parking, although partly Manchester City councils fault selling land to build on and reducing car parks, the one we used to use can’t get a RR in anymore, that packed with spaces there’s no room to drive in a space or reverse into one, if you do get in then no room to get out after.
