Just thought I'd make a little thread. Had to replace drivers seat as it had collapsed, ended up getting a full set of RRC seats for £120. Bargain.
Excluding shot blast and paint drying time, 4 hour job tops. I think they are amazing.
First took old seats and brackets out, ripped out the saturated sound proofing, gave everything a sand and clean and a coat of hamerite equivalent.
Took the original brackets to a place down the road for shot blasting and paint, (too awkward to wirebrush and sand myself). £40 for the pair. I think they look great.
Next got some 5mm plate (fiver each) and drilled holes for the four corners on the RRC sliders, then temp bolted the disco brackets back into the car, got the g-clamps out and put the seat in the cab. Got it into a good position, g-clamped it all together, pulled the entire assembly out and marked the holes for the disco brackets. Took the opertunity to increase the amount the chair can slide back. now goes back a good 4 inches more than the disco seats did.
Here you can see the finished product.
And finally all seats fitted into position. Rear seats are just a straight swap. You can see how far back the front seats are on the sliders. I replaced the bolts that hold the seats to the floor with some stronger ones and the biggest washers I had. Ive jumped around on them and they arent going anywhere!
