OK, the sound system is a bit, err, lacking in my lovely RR Classic – the radio has loads of interference, the CD changer is stuck with Joe McElderry CD in it (came with the car and can’t get it out!) and I want to upgrade.

Now, mine is a soft dash with the additional tweeters on the A pillars and the mahoosive sub box, sub and tiny amp in the rear ¾ panel. Do I need to consider these ‘extras’ when looking to upgrade the sound system, or will an ISO convertor up front get them all working sweetly?

Also, I’m after a DVD screen, ideally a flip-out one, but they all seem pretty expensive. Any cheap flip-out screens that will play CD’s, DVD’s and take an iPod input? If not, I’ve found a single-DIN unit with just a 3” screen for £100 that does all of this AND has Bluetooth for my phone – cheap, maybe, but cheerful too!

Cheers :)

iv experienced the cheap units and to be honest there not worth the hassel.

I spent £200 on a 7" fixed touch screen double din one (cheap chinese make)

did all the dvd, bluetooth, satnav etc...

but was full of problems. and i ended up sending it back as i got fed up of the nasty menu's and problems with it.

To be honest your better off saving up and spending £500 on a proper alpine / sony make.

these are much better quality and you will get a decent warrantee and support. if you have any problems with the units you buy off of ebay then you have no support on the phone and your left with a chinese person on the end of an email.

Good luck :D

If the ISO connectors are there they should take care of everything. As for CHEAP units, as stated above do not go anywhere near them. And stay well away from anything from ripspeed as they are complete ****e aswell.

Kenwood, sony, etc only. Not sure whats out there atm as not looked in years but use the best you can afford.

Have a hunt thtough the yellow pages/thompson books for a local car audio place.
