Well the job is done. Had them pressed in by local indy. One upshot is I no longer have the tool the indy does (they had lost their tool), so if in S Wales HBH Land Rover just north of Cardiff have the ability to fit these bushes.

PS chatting to them they refuse to fit poly bushes as the ride becomes very harsh for on road use. Also they have tried fitting Bearmach versions of genuine bush and found problems fitting these.

Whats the ride like now?

Sorry when I said the job was done that was just getting the bushes into the arms. Have just finished putting everything back together. I'm also doing a couple of other jobs, so probably won't be driving it for a few days. Will feed back when I do.

The OD of new bushes is around 61.25 mm the hole it goes in is 60 mm so you need a tapered constrictor bush to compress the bush as it is pressed through it into the radius arm. I made my tool and mandrels from Micarta did the job without problems.

Hi Wammers, to check/clarify measurements on the tapered sleeve, a 60 mm exit hole 65 input hole (?) over what sort of distance 60mm?

Just asking because this maybe one of the jobs to do this year on my P38, I might as well start collecting the bits to make the tools...

The tool i made is 1" thick Micarta, taper goes from 61.5 mm to 59.00 over that distance with suitable blocks also made from Micarta to push the bush through the tool. A little grease and it does the job very easily indeed using my 20 ton press. The Land rover tool is designed to remove and refit bushes, mine is just for fitting them, i used my sized Micarta pushing block to start the movement of the old bushes then suitable sized 3/4" sockets to press them out. The fitting tool does not need to be that deep if you have other means of removing the old bushes.

Do you have a line on any genuine bushes?

RR today told me they are all unavailable, and I'd have to buy the arms with the bushes in?

This would be rather expensive.

Sure take your pick i fitted these. http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/front-radius-bush-anr3332g-p-3278.html or if you have lots of cash http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/front-radius-bush-genuine-anr3332lr-p-7446.html and four of these http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/front-radius-rear-bush-genuine-anr2563lr-p-7445.html

Thanks, have ordered all bushes, bump stops. I'm going to have a fun day. I've also ordered lrt-60-004, if anyone wants to borrow it to fit their bushes around the North London/ Essex area when I'm done!
