Front Radius Arms - Narrow And Wide Measurements

Slackening the front axle radius arm nuts last night on Izzy revealed the LH one was...showing less than optimum on the thread:

A die nut might recover that. But its asking a lot. And cost of a die nut is likely to be more than a second hand arm...

So far I have yet to find an ID on the front axle so not 100% confident of what left the factory is the same as what's now fitted.

Knowing if its a "Narrow" or "Wide" variant will help when sourcing a replacement.

Anyone got the measurements for the widths of the respective bushes?

You deffo need new bolts in there ...
You need:

4 off M16 x100mm bolts (10.9) - BX116201L
4 off M16 Nyloc nuts
8 off M16 Washers

2 off M20 Washers - for the back end, you can use the originals.
2 off M20 Nyloc nuts

Arm width 44mm, Bush (inner metal tube length) and arm gap 52mm. Arm pt no LR041266
From 1994 LA to 2012
Arm width 44mm, Bush and gap 52mm. Arm pt no NTC7331, superceded by LR041266.
Upto 1993 KA
Arm width 38mm, Bush and arm gap 46mm. BUSH pt no NTC7307, Arm pt no NTC2705.

That looks like someone has really gone to town on it! I hope mine doesn't end up looking like that when I come to change my bushes!
I have all the bushes and new bolts to do it, just need some time to get around to it as i'll be DIYing it, drilling/cutting the old bushes then chiselling them out etc

This kind of mess was referred to in the workshop as a Dewhurst effort.

Which works for anyone who can remember the chain of Master Butchers.

My local mechanic always burnt them out with the torch, then a quick go of the hacksaw to remove outer metal bit. Having a small fire and support the bit to be burnt over the flames will also do the job
